Radburn: The Town for the Motor Age

Rick Hampson and Stephen Taylor

If you're interested in Radburn's fascinating story, here's an invitation to start a free subscription to a Substack.com online newsletter entitled "Radburn: The Town for the Motor Age.'' It's edited and written by Radburn residents Steve Taylor and Rick Hampson, with contributions from other residents. It's a way to share what we have learned and are learning about Radburn, its creators, and its sibling communities.

Like Steve and Rick's walking tours of Historic Radburn, a Substack subscription is free. It arrives by email, and you can also go directly to the website (see below).

By subscribing, you'll be able to access stories Rick, Steve, and others already have written -- such as how Radburn got its name and what happened to its founders -- and receive new articles (at least one a month).

Above all, you can share your ideas about posted content. If you'd like to subscribe or check out the website, the address is: https://radburn.substack.com/

Graduate class in urban planning Rutgers' Bloustein School!

On May 1, 2023 we were visited by 22 members of a graduate school class in urban planning taught by Prof. Kathe Newman of Rutgers' Bloustein School. This may have been the first such school group to tour Radburn since the pandemic. The students said they learned a lot on the tour, and their presence served as a reminder of Radburn's historic impact on city and town planning. (Photo by Lindy Washburn.)
