Project Overview
Radburn’s Tot Lot, established as part of the pioneering suburban community design in 1929, is a vital recreational space for Fair Lawn families that has aged beyond usability. The current playground suffers from:
-
Deteriorated equipment and surfaces
-
Lack of inclusivity and ADA compliance
-
Fencing in disrepair
-
Rust and safety concerns.
The revitalization project will:
-
Remove the existing structures and surfaces.
-
Install inclusive play equipment such as swings for children with disabilities, multi-sensory elements, and balance challenges.
-
Upgrade surfaces to ADA-compliant solid rubber or engineered wood fiber for accessibility.
-
Incorporate sustainable, eco-friendly materials.
-
Replace the perimeter fencing and create accessible pathways.
