B Park Tot Lot Playground Grant Application

(Jake's Law/Green Acres)

Project Overview

Radburn’s Tot Lot, established as part of the pioneering suburban community design in 1929, is a vital recreational space for Fair Lawn families that has aged beyond usability. The current playground suffers from:

  • Deteriorated equipment and surfaces

  • Lack of inclusivity and ADA compliance

  • Fencing in disrepair

  • Rust and safety concerns.

The revitalization project will:

  1. Remove the existing structures and surfaces.

  2. Install inclusive play equipment such as swings for children with disabilities, multi-sensory elements, and balance challenges.

  3. Upgrade surfaces to ADA-compliant solid rubber or engineered wood fiber for accessibility.

  4. Incorporate sustainable, eco-friendly materials.

  5. Replace the perimeter fencing and create accessible pathways.
